DATES TAMARIND SWEET N SOUR CHUTNEY

Hello everyone

Those who are fan of fried snacks and chaat golgappe ,must be familiar with tangy sweet chutney served with it. Nearly everyone loves to dig in this tempting mate of Indian fried snacks, from samosa to pakode or chaat batashe, these snacks can not be that appetizing without this chatpata dip. So thought why not to give it a try at home to have it any time without guilt.

DATES TAMARIND SWEET N SOUR CHUTNEY



Yield: 1 1/2 cup
Time : 20 mins

Ingredients 

3/4 cup dates, deseeded
1/4 cup tamarind pulp( soaked, deseeded and strained pulp)
1/4- 1/3 cup jaggery ( depend on sweetness of jaggery)
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1/2 tsp ginger powder


Method:

First of all take dates, tamarind pulp , jaggery, salt and 2 cups water in a heavy bottom vessel and let it cook till every thing is completely mushed and become slurry like. 


Let it cool a little then make a smooth puree using required water. Now transfer the puree in same vessel , if it looks too dry then add some water to it. 


Now add all spice powders and Taste it to adjust spice level as per your taste. Now let it cook till desired consistency is acquired. Switch off the flame and let it cool completely. 


Now store it it sterilized glass jar and keep in refrigerator. It will be good for 30- 40 days. Your delicious finger licking dip is ready to be served with your choice of snacks.


 Specially kids love this sweet tangy chutney to relish on. 


You can increase or decrease the quantity of jaggery and tamarind as per your taste preference. 
Dry fruits like raisins, cashews etc can also be added to make it more rich in taste and healthy too. Do try this very easy dip recipe and believe you will never regret. Please pour your valuable comments and suggestions here, they meant a lot.
